Vocational Education

January 31, 2008 at 10:50 am

Ok, everybody has heard of Wikipedia. For those of you that might not know what I’m talking about… Wikipedia is a web-based encyclopedia project. Wikipedia’s articles provide links to guide the user to related pages with additional information. Basicly, it’s really cool. And anybody can add to it. :)
So, I’m wanting to tell you about a certain section on Wikipedia. Their list of vocational education schools. Now, sense I’m not all that smart, I don’t know exactly what Vocational education is. So I looked it up on Wikipedia. lol. What I found:
Vocational education (or Vocational Education and Training (VET), also called Career and Technical Education (CTE)) prepares learners for careers that are based in manual or practical activities, traditionally non-academic and totally related to a specific trade, occupation or vocation, hence the term, in which the learner participates. It is sometimes referred to as technical education, as the learner directly develops expertise in a particular group of techniques or technology.
Now that we all know what everything is that I’m trying to tell you about…
Wikipedia only lists 92 vocational education schools. Reputable schools listed in Wikipedia under Vocational Education include colleges such as Durham Technical Community College, The Illinois institute of Art, Nouveau Riche University, and Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute
I’m about to go back to the site to check out what they might have for me. :)

KHOZ 102.9

January 28, 2008 at 1:02 pm

Well, today is my first day at KHOZ. It’s goin pretty good so far. The first day at a new job is always confusing though. Even if it’s the same job, they do things differently, and it’s a new place with new people. They are a little more strict on things here though. :/ Like I’m not really suposed to be doing ‘personal’ things online. And if I’m even one min. late they start freaking out.
The good thing is that it’s closer to home. :) I really like that. It takes me about 15 min. to get here, where as at TVC it took me close to 40 to get to work. I will be saving a lot in gas so it’s worth it to take a slight pay cut. At the end of the month I will have more money left than before because of the difference in gas. That is one thing I’m really looking forward to.
The lady that’s training me is nice, but a little confusing. She tends to jump from one thing to the next. But for the most part I can figure it out.
I guess that’s all I will write for now. I have pictures from Saturday, but I will have to do that when I get home. Or it might be tomorrow before I get around to it, I still have a lot of school work to do. :(
O, by the way, check out my wedding site. There really isn’t much on there right now…but there will be. :) And if you want to be really nice and click on one of the ads that would be totaly awesome. :P I could really use the money.

Picture Saturday

January 21, 2008 at 8:34 pm

I was going to write an actual blog today while I was at work (payperpost entrys don’t really count) but I wound up with so much to do that I didn’t really have time. I guess everyone is realizing that my last day is Friday and they need me to do some things because I’m pretty much the only one that knows how to do it. :P I still got to play around on the internet some though. I was mostly printing stuff all day. But the printer at my desk is so picky it has to be supervised and the big printer gets jammed every now and then so I had to check on it too, which ment that I couldn’t be printing both things at the same time. :/ Oh well, I got it all done. Wednesday they are going to be asking me to cut the things that I printed today. :dead:

O, I have some pictures from Saturday. Like I had said in my post from Saturday I used a real camera instead of my phone. :P I need to upload those, I think I will do that now.
Alrighty…here we go. These two were my favorite of the kids (Jeremiah, Djini):

And these are the guys. I took the first one of Cory mainly because he didn’t want me to, but it turned out pretty cool. The guys thought it was awesome that he looked so tall, so I had to take pics of each of them like that. (Cory, Ben, Jeremiah)

Cory took pictures of his mom (Maudie) and George:

And this time Cory got a picture of me too. This hardly ever happens, I’m usually the one behind the camera. :/
